- Theme: Wooden furniture
Works (cabinets, tables, chairs and others) entered must be newly created and previously unpublished. "Unpublished" means that the work has never appeared on the market as a product, has never appeared in a newspaper, magazine, or exhibition, and has never been a winner in other competitions before the sponsor announces the results of the main selection process (please refrain from entering this competition and other competitions at the same time.) A work which has appeared in student exhibitions is considered unpublished.
Works are considered "wooden" when their major component parts are made of wood. - Qualification
Any individual, group or business will qualify. - Number of entries
No limit is set on the number of entries from any one applicant. - Registration fee

The fee is non-refundable.
You will be informed of the registration of your application after we receive both your application and registration fee. - Copyrights, patents and industrial properties
Copyrights, patents, industrial properties and all other related rights for the entered works are reserved by the applicants. It is therefore expected that the applicant will make an effort to protect these rights. Please apply for copyrights and industrial properties before submitting your entry if you believe it necessary.
As for the works entered in the Final, all rights to the displays, the use in official catalogues, and publicity for the International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa 2008 and other related exhibits are reserved by the sponsor. The sponsor also has priority in negotiating with the applicant when commercializing any works entered in the Final. - Official languages
The official languages to be used during the competition are English and Japanese.

Maximum file capacity : 500 KB

(height x width) : 640 x 480 pixels
Attention! : You are advised to submit images most appropriate for the selection process. In most cases, submitted images will be shown to the judges as they are. You cannot specify which side of the image is horizontal or vertical. Please also note that your image may be enlarged for the convenience of the judges if it is too small.

- Fill in the application form and send it together with color photos (approximately 90mm×130mm) of your design proposal.
- The maximum number of color photos per entry is six.
- Please number the back of the photos in the order that you wish them to be arranged in the preliminary selection process, and provide an arrow on the back indicating the upper side of the photo.
- Photos of the actual work or the prototype and computer- rendered pictures of the work will be considered.
- The applicant is prohibited from using any letters or signs which indicate the identity of the applicant on the front side of photos.
- Photos sent by applicants will not be returned.
