Nominating for INDEX: AWARD 2009 is an online-only process
Before nominating please review these guidelines and have the material you need to complete the nomination form ready and available.
When you are ready to nominate go to www.indexaward.dk/nominate
Before you start:
To nominate for INDEX: AWARD you will need to create a nomination account. Please submit the required information and confirm your email-address. If you do receive an email confirmation, please check your junk-email folder.
Once you have created an account, you can start nominating. The nomination form consists of six steps. Remember to press save after completing each step.
Move from one step to the next using the top horizontal navigation bar.
Step 1: Basic
In this step we need you to tell the short, overall story of the design and provide some general information about the design.
Step 2: Description of design
In this section, you give a detailed description of the design and to provide information about how the design improves life. The description is broken down into three main categories:
Form:
Describe, in less than 1000 characters, the formal aspects of the design, e.g. its appearance - what you can feel, touch and see.
Impact:
Describe, in less than 1000 characters, the impact of the design, e.g. the design’s positive contribution to the world and the benefits and aspirations of the design.
Context:
Describe, in less than 1000 characters, the context the design is supposed to function in. Who benefits from the design? What problem is addressed by the design etc.?
In this section of the form you will also need to provide information on all known drawbacks of the design. If none, please write ‘None’ in the empty field.
If there is anything else you think we need to know about the design, which have not been covered in the fields above. Please use the field ‘Other relevant information’ to provide us with this information.
Step 3: Visual
In this step you can upload visual material to accompany your nomination. The minimum requirement is one image.
Upload image
The minimum size is 72 dpi 320x225px. Maximum: 300 dpi, 5120x3400px. Please upload JPEG (all other formats than JPEG are forbidden and will not be visible on the site).
Video
If you want to add a video to your nomination please upload it to Youtube.com and paste your “embed” code into the empty field. If you don not have a YouTube account, please go to www.youtube.com/signup and follow the instructions.
Step 4: Designers
In this you need to submit information on who designed the design you are nominating. Please be as exact as possible. As a minimum you will need to provide us with the name and nationality of the designer(s).
In this step you can also provide information about producer/manufacturer and additional credits.
Step 5: Contact information
In this step you will need to submit detailed contact details of the designer or a member of the design team. The contact person is the one we will contact about the nomination, media exhibition etc. Please be as exact as possible.
This information will NOT be visible on the website.
Step 6: Submit
When you have finished the steps above, you can submit your nomination. Please review it carefully and check that everything is correct and accurate before submitting. Once you are finished, you can start nominating another design.
