The Horizon Interactive Awards is a prestigious internationalcompetition recognizing outstanding achievement amonginteractive media producers.

In January of each year, the Horizon Interactive Awardsreceives hundreds of entries from all over the world.A panel of industry professionals, from diverse multi-media,graphic design and marketing backgrounds, review theentries to determine the work that is to be recognized.Entries are given either a Gold, Silver, Bronze, andin some cases honorable mention award distinctions.All Gold winners are eligible for the Best of Categoryand Best of Show award (the Horizon Interactive Awardshighest honor).


You've heard the expression, "giving creditwhere credit is due," well that's ourreason for being. Horizon honors the most talented developersof interactive media. The competition provides a levelplaying field to all participants regardless of companysize. Often, smaller firms and individual developersproduce outstanding work that never receives the recognitionit deserves. Our mission is to shed the spotlight onthat work and the people who made it happen.

Our Business Philosophy: Quite simply,we're working for you. Through a very customer focusedapproach, we'll do whatever it takes to help show theworld how great your work is!


  • WHAT'S ELIGIBLE?
    Web Sites, CD-Rom, DVD-Rom, DVD Video, Webcast/Streaming Media, Video Game, Kiosk, Video/Short Film, etc.

    PRODUCTION DATES
    Between January 1, 2007 - Feb 20, 2009

  • ENTRY FEE
    Each entry will require a $45 non-refundable entry fee. You can enter a work in more than one category but each additional category will require an additional $45 fee. All payments must be U.S. Currency. You may send a company check or Mastercard, Visa or American Express.

Web sites
Websites can be submitted via URL or on CD-Rom. URLs to be judged should be available from February 1 - March 31 2007. If you are sending a website on CD-Rom, You may use the online entry form to enter your project. Please complete the online form and attach a copy of the receipt to the website on CD-Rom to be sent via postal mail.

Webcasts / Streaming Media
Webcasts / Streaming media projects can be viewedby URL or on CD-Rom. If you are entering a webcast/ streaming media on CD-Rom, You may stilluse the online entry form to enter your project.Please complete the online form and attach a copyof the receipt to the webcast / streaming mediaon CD-Rom to be sent via postal mail.

CD-Rom / DVD / DVD-Rom / Kiosk
Please send 1 copy of the CD-Rom / DVD / DVD-Rom/ Kiosk via mail postmarked by the deadline. You may use the online entry form to enter your project. Please complete the online form and attach a copy of the receipt to the CD-Rom / DVD / DVD-Rom / Kiosk to be sent via postal mail.

Video Game
Video games can be viewed online, on CD-Rom, ora specified game format (i.e. DVD, Console, etc.)If your game is not available online, You may still use the online entry form to enter your project. Please complete the online form and attach a copy of the receipt to the video game to be sent via postal mail.

Video
Video projects can be sent on the following formats:DVD / CD (Quicktime, Windows Media, Real Media ,Flash)/ Mini DV / VHS / Beta SP

CONFIDENTIALITY OF ENTRY MATIERALS

All entry materials are kept strictly confidential. Your materials are only shown to members of the Horizion Interactive Awards judging panel who are bound by a judging confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement.

Because we accept judges from alllevels of the interactive media industryand other related fields, it truly is apanel of your piers. These are people thatlive and work in the industry on a dailybasis. No group "think tanks"here... just real creative and qualifiedpeople. In addition, end-users and non-designersare also part of the judges panel. Thisoffers a unique perspective not found atany other awards competition. We feel thatsolutions should be effective... not justfun to look at. Think of it like your ownpersonal focus group!

JUDGING CRITERIA
Judges look for the best blendbetween creativity and functionality.Each entry will be judged on the following:

  1. Solution creativity and originality
  2. Overall graphic design / appearance / user experience
  3. Communication of message
  4. Technical merit
  5. Effectiveness of solution
Judges may award a project a Gold, SilverBronze or Honorable Mention distinction. Awardswill be given for each category and theremay be multiple winners in each category.Only Gold level winners are eligible for the"Best of Show", "Best of Category", and otherspecial awards. There will be one winner forthe "Best of Show" and other special awardsof distinction. There will be one winner percategory for the "Best of Category" award.
