[Architects]The Royal Institute of British Architects Call for Entries(09.02.19)

截止日期:2009.02.19

The Royal Institute of British Architects is once again on the lookout for potential RIBA Stirling Prize winners. Following on from the success of Accordia, in Cambridge by Feilden Clegg Bradley, Maccreanor Lavington and Alison Brooks in October, the search has begun to find the best examples of new British architecture. Practices up and down the country are urged to submit projects of architectural excellence to the 2009 RIBA Awards scheme.

The RIBA Awards have been running continuously since 1966 and are judged locally. RIBA Awards are given for buildings that have made a substantial contribution to the local environment.

From 2009 RIBA National Awards will no longer be presented, but judging for the RIBA Awards and Stirling Prize remains unchanged.

From 2009 the RIBA will no longer make RIBA European Awards. If the building is in the UK or is in the rest of the European Union and is designed by a practice whose principal office is in the UK, it will be entered for the RIBA Awards.

If the building is outside the European Union or is in the rest of the EU and designed by a practice based outside the UK it will be entered for the RIBA International Awards.

Stirling eligible buildings in the European Union will be awarded RIBA Awards. Lubetkin eligible buildings inside and outside the EU will be awarded RIBA International Awards.

Awards ceremonies

The RIBA Awards will be presented at local ceremonies in May 2009; the RIBA Stirling Prize Dinner will be held in London on 17 October 2009.

Commitment to sustainability

Once again the RIBA’s commitment to sustainable architecture is reflected in its awards programme, with all entries requiring a description of the building's performance in use with particular reference to energy use. Energy performance statistics, signed by an environmental engineer, are highly desirable for all entries and mandatory for those projects with a contract value over £1 million.

Entry forms must be returned to the relevant RIBA regional or national office by 5:00 pm on 19 February 2009.
